I've spent more than 23 years cooking for people. From fine dining kitchens and big events, to dinner parties in people's homes.
I love food that makes people want to go back for another mouthful. It doesn't have to be fussy, and it definitely doesn't have to look like a science experiment. It just needs to be tasty.
I'm a huge believer that the best meals are the ones where everyone is still sitting around the table, plates are being passed around, wine is being poured and nobody is worrying about what's happening in the kitchen.
That's where I come in.
A little bit more about me...
I think my obsession with food started pretty early. After school, I’d often sit and read my Nan’s cookbooks from cover to cover, completely fascinated by the recipes, the ingredients and all the things I could imagine making. I wasn’t just interested in eating the food, I wanted to know how it worked and how I could make it myself. That curiosity never really went away, and eventually those afternoons reading cookbooks turned into a career in food. Over the years I’ve worked in all sorts of kitchens and with all sorts of food, and I was lucky enough to become a semi-finalist on MasterChef: The Professionals in 2014. But it’s the cooking itself that has always been the constant for me. I love big flavours, proper ingredients and taking something familiar and giving it a little twist. I’m not interested in making food complicated just for the sake of it, if it tastes good, that’s what matters. These days, I’m happiest cooking for people who love food as much as I do, whether that’s around a big table at home, at one of my supper clubs or simply feeding a room full of hungry people. And if there’s a good bottle of wine, plenty of laughter and people going back for seconds, even better.
